Heritage
Whilst a Councillor and Deputy Mayor on Woollahra Council I was on the committee that drafted the first Heritage Development Control Plan ever devised for the Paddington area. This allowed a controlled but practical way in which creative development that had strong heritage sympathy could be allowed, thus protecting the Heritage Conservation area.I have a background of being a third generation Paddington resident and have a deep interest in, and concern, for the protection of the existing heritage architecture of this area and our city be it 1860ʼs or 1960ʼs. Over the last 20 years we have renovated over 120 houses in Paddington, Woollahra, Mosman, Haberfield, Hunters Hill and Balmain that are in Heritage Conservation Areas and or have required detailed heritage conservation processes to gain council approval. We have won two Heritage Awards from Woollahra Council and been nominated for one other for excellence in sympathetic heritage design. We aim to protect and restore the heritage elements of the unique early heritage of Australia yet sympathetically modernise the properties to make them more habitable and enjoyable to live in.
